Abstract
So now you know what HTML (HyperText Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) are, and you’ve come to know all the different CSS selectors and HTML elements available to you to create very rich web pages. So now let’s add some JavaScript to make your pages dynamic and very “Web 2.0.” JavaScript lets you program your web page to respond to users moving their mouse, or clicking a particular HTML element, or maybe you want some time-based events to occur. JavaScript is very exciting and can add lots of cool features to your site. In this chapter you’ll learn to add JavaScript to web pages; then in Chapter 8 you’ll learn to add JavaScript to custom-created Drupal pages. Remember that HTML, CSS, and JavaScript can all run independently of Drupal, but the Drupal system does use these same building blocks to create pages.
