Abstract

Brazilian automotive industries implantation was responsible for a transformation in the national economy that reverberated different for Rio de Janeiro (RJ) and São Paulo (SP). This article objective is to relate the automotive industry development and it influence over the motorsport in the period among 1956 to 1966 that correspond to the Brazilian automotive industry implantation and Rio de Janeiro Speedway construction. We searched to understand how this period got different for RJ and SP motorsport. The industries transformed SP into Brazilian economic and motorsport center, and RJ without equal industrial investment regressed in relation to the Circuito da Gávea race epoch, that for many years (1933‐1954) were the greatest motorsport event in Brazil.
