Abstract

In what concerns the prose Arthurian romance, little space has been devoted to the study of biblical matter. This fact seems even more striking with regard to Prose Lancelot, a bookthat seems to bethe narrative axis of the “Lancelot-Graal” cycle, written in France, around 1220.After a thorough study aboutthe parables of the Gospels, detected in the two versions of the conclusion of the cycle mentioned above, the Portuguese Demanda do Santo Graaland the Queste del Saint Graal, that we present in a very succinct wayin this article, we reserved a brief analysis of a parable unexpectedly found in Prose Lancelot. Thus, we propose a reading of the “Parable of the talents” and a reflection on the modeling action of the Holy Scriptures, seeking to understand to what extent they fit into the cyclical conception.
