Abstract

Introduction: The pregnancy-puerperal process demands a dignified and quality care that is not limited to the expulsion or extraction of a fetus from the woman's womb, it is a phenomenon that requires the implementation of a truly humanized assistance with all health professionals. Materials and Methods: This is a bibliographic review that will be carried out through the search in texts and academic research, available on platforms such as SCIELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online), VHL (Virtual Health Library) and Google Scholar, published between the years of 2018 and 2022, in Portuguese and available for free. Results: Humanizing childbirth is putting the woman at the center and in control of this process, she being the active subject of the actions, participating intimately in the decisions about her care and, in this way, the team enters as a facilitator of the process. Conclusion: Nurse care is considered favorable for parturients to feel comfortable and safe with their participation at birth.
