Abstract

A hypothesis of physical nature of signals for intracellular and intercellular synchronization of protein synthesis rhythms is considered. Electromagnetic and acoustic waves generated during gel–sol phase transitions and oscillations of intracellular microstructures are proposed as synchronization signals, while endogenous rhythm of gel–sol transitions is their universal acceptor. Information significance of these signals in the evolution of cells and multicellular organisms is discussed.
