Abstract

Abstract This paper presents a new scheme for designing the discrete model reference adaptive control system for the single-input, single-output linear plant, based on the augmented error signal concept and Popov's hyperstability theorem. The proposed scheme enables us to synthesize a stable adaptive control system through a simple and systematic design procedure, using no anticipative values of the plant output. The usefulness of the scheme is demonstrated by the computer simulations performed for a second-order plant.
