Abstract

AbstractThe hybrid particle level set method developed by Enright et al. (2002) combines the high precision of Lagrangian front tracking techniques with the smooth and simple reconstruction of interfaces provided by Eulerian level set methods. In this paper we consider the rotation of a rigid body of complex geometry and compare the achieved accuracy of both the original level set approach and the hybrid particle level set method.
