Abstract

In this paper, a hybrid antenna with large frequency ratio is proposed. The frequency ratio of the two operating bands reaches 7.3. A meshed mirostrip patch antenna contributes to the radiation at microwave band. However, the radiation at millimeter wave comes from a Fabry-Perot resonator cavity antenna. These two antennas share one single aperture, which realizes structure reuse. The simulated results show that the impedance bandwidth ( $\vert \mathrm{S}_{11}\vert dB) reaches 5% and 6.5% at lower band and higher band, respectively. The peak gains are 8.0 dBi and 12.82 dBi at 3.7 GHz and 27.1 GHz, respectively. The total size of the proposed antenna is only 40mm× 40mm× 5. 3mm. The proposed antenna shows potential applications on the base station of a 5G communication system.
