Abstract

Dynamic economic dispatch (DED) problem with considering value-point effects is a non-smooth, non-convex, multi-dimensional continuous nonlinear optimization problem. In allusion to the characteristics of this optimization problem, a hybrid intelligent optimization algorithm integrating Halton sequences, improved shuffled frog leaping algorithm (ISFLA) and Sequential Quadratic Programming (SQP) is proposed in this paper. A ten-unit test system for a period of 24 hours is studied to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method. Results obtained by the proposed method are compared with those obtained by other approaches in the literatures. The results demonstrate that the proposed method has good performance for solving DED problem with value-point effects in terms of solution quality and computation efficiency.
