Abstract

Construction activities bring stress on ecosystem, consume natural resources and damage human health. Giving a comprehensive and quantitative impact assessment on construction products is the premise of proposing improvement measures effectively. This paper integrates Building Environmental Performance Analysis System (BEPAS) and Building Health Impact Analysis System (BHIAS) into a new model. Through inventory analysis, classification, characterization, and weighting these basic steps, it assesses hybrid impacts of environment and human health. We take a case to test the model’s application and results indicate that it can effectively quantify impacts, and can potentially be used as a tool for contractors to make decisions.
