Abstract

In this paper, a new topology is introduced to a six-phase permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) system AC-DC control. A hybrid control method is developed based on this topology. The six-phase system is divided into two three-phase systems. One three-phase system, as a master system, operates through a three-phase active boost rectifier, which controls Vdc voltage and output current; the other three-phase system, as a slave system, operates through a three-phase diode rectifier, whose output current is controlled by a DC-DC boost chopper and is sent on the same DC-bus with the master system. The system space vector control is realized through controlling the master system by measuring the six-phase currents and Vdc voltage. The simulation results are used to verify this new control method.
