Abstract
This paper identifies and delineates gentrification in a fourth order city: Regina, Canada. As a consequence of the relationship between house prices and socio-ecomonic status, housing market variables are used as main indicators of gentrification. The analysis is achieved at the local level using the ARC/INFO GIS and clustering the information by enumeration areas. One enumeration area (EA 7313) is selected as the most representative example of gentrification since its old housing stock prices increased from the low to middle range of the housing market. It is confirmed that housing market variables provide useful information in delineating gentrification.
