Abstract

Although developments in the field of information and communication technologies affect all sectors, health is one of the most affected sectors. It is transforming from the traditional model, where patients physically go to the hospital and meet face-to-face with the physician, to modern medicine, where remote health care is provided. However, patients, healthcare professionals, hospitals, and regulatory organizations have hesitations about the use of digital health technologies, and it is observed that trust in remote healthcare is low. In this chapter, the authors emphasize that it is necessary to focus on the elements that make up the digital health ecosystem to understand better the hesitations and trust problems regarding digital health applications and to obtain the expected benefits.
