Abstract

1. The rate of proton exchange in hydrazines is proportional to the concentration of positive ion contaminants and is equal to zero in solutions free of such contaminants; exchange proceeds exclusively through ions. 2. Rates and activation energies for proton exchange in hydrazines have been determined. The exchange rate for processes involving the NH group is 1–2 orders higher than the rate of exchange between NH2 groups. 3. Rates and activation energies for quadrupole relaxation in hydrazines and unsummetrical dimethylhydrazine have been determined. 4. Parameters for the spectrum of exchange-free symmetrical dimethylhydrazine have been determined.
