Abstract
High-quality, monolayer graphene was grown by the chemical vapor deposition method. The monolayer graphene was used as a saturable absorber in a Nd:YVO4 laser. Stable Q-switched mode-locking laser pulses at a central wavelength of 1.06 μm were obtained. The maximum average output power and pulse repetition rate were 1570 mW and 142.8 MHz, respectively. Our results illustrate that graphene is a promising saturable absorber for solid-state lasers.
