Abstract
2-Trimethylsilylethynyl acetanilides, obtained from the palladium-catalyzed reactions of 2-iodoacetanilides with trimethylsilylacetylene, underwent Friedel–Crafts acylation reactions yielding the <i>N</i>-acyl-2-acyl(aroyl)indolium chlorides in good yields.
