Abstract

The tetranucleotide repeat locus DQIV (UniSTS:239151) is located within the HLA region (6p21.3), close to HLA-DRB1 and HLA-DRQ1. STR-loci within the MHC region can add useful information in stem cell transplantation and are used for a better characterization of HLA-haplotypes. The study showed in an Austrian population sample ( n = 292), that DQIV is approximately as informative as other commonly applied loci in the forensic field.
