Abstract

A new 3D metal-organic framework (MOF), {[Eu2L3(H2O)5]2·3DMF}n (1) has been successfully synthesized via 2-amino-4,4′-biphthalic acid (H2L) and Eu(NO3)3·4H2O by using solvothermal method. For complex 1, the carboxylates bridged two kinds of ions to form double rope one-dimensional chain [Eu(COO)3]n, the adjacent one-dimensional chains are connected to generate three-dimensional structure by adjacent ligands. Luminescent sensing experiments revealed 1 can efficiently detect 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) and 2, 4, 6-trinitrophenol (TNP) with excellent sensitivity and selectivity. Additionally, the detection mechanism for these nitro aromatic compounds was further explored by calculations and experiments.
