Abstract

Efficient water-vapor splitting opens up a new strategy for developing scalable and corrosion-free solar-energy-harvesting systems. In a recent issue of Nature Communications, Takanabe and co-workers report a high-pressure-tolerant vapor-fed photocatalytic water-splitting system for highly efficient photocatalytic H2 evolution with an ultrahigh apparent quantum yield of 54% ± 4%.
