Abstract

A new high magnification slit-lamp camera of Nikon was presented by Noyori, at the XXIII International Congress of Ophthalmology Kyoto, Japan, 1978. (2) This instrument consists of specially designed interchangeable high resolution macro-lenses and slit-lamp illumination to enable high magnification photographs of the anterior segment of the eye without corneal contact. The image magnification at the film plane is about 60 x and 150 % 300 x on the photographic enlargements. The technique of observation the corneal endothelial ceils with the slit-lamp and biomicroscope was already described by Vogt and photographed by Brown (3,1) (see Table).
