Abstract
CuO, Co3O4, Fe2O3 oxides, Cu2(OH)3NO3 and Cu2(OH)3NO3(Co2 +/Fe3 +) composite were prepared by solution technique, characterized by PXRD, N2 physisorption, SEM-EDX and were tested in the CO-PROX reaction. The pretreatment of Cu2(OH)3NO3(Co2 +/Fe3 +) composite in a gas mixture leads to formation of an active and highly selective two-phase CuO/Cu2(OH)3NO3(Co2 +/Fe3 +) composite catalyst. The H2 conversion over the composite catalyst reaches the value of 3% at 438 K when CO is converted to CO2 completely. The addition of Co2 + and Fe3 + to Cu2(OH)3NO3 stabilizes this phase in the composite and improves the catalytic activity in CO oxidation and the reaction selectivity.
