Abstract

Digital fingerprinting protects multimedia content from illegal redistribution by embedding a unique fingerprint in each legal user's copy. In the popular multimedia applications, such as VOD, online audio or video store, etc., the number of users may be more than 100 million. The main problem of such on-line multimedia distribution system is the super-high load to generate the unique fingerprinted copy for every user. In this paper, we provide a real-time and light-weight fingerprinted video distribution scheme, which joints the GOP structure of the compressed video and the concatenated fingerprint together, adopts concatenated fingerprint as collusion-secure fingerprint, embeds the inner code in intra frame of video based on the GOP structure and generates the mother copies in advance. When the user's fingerprinted copy needs to be generated, the system only joints the GOPs from mother copies according to the user's outer code. Experiments show that the proposed scheme reduces a certain amount of time to generate user's fingerprinted copy, and can be applied to online video applications, such as VOD, IPTV, online video store and so on, to achieve the high-effective distribution.
