Abstract
This paper presents a hierarchical optimal distribution algorithm of large urban water supply network system. The modelling of the network system for minimizing the operating cost and water leakage is formulated as a non- linear and large scale optimization problem. In order to solve this problem, a hierarchical optimal algorithm is proposed based on Kuhn-Tucker.'s optimality necessary conditions. The proposed algorithm has been successfully applied to a 72-node system with a microcomputer and satisfactory results are obtained.
