Abstract
This paper presents a heuristic method for the problem of scheduling delivery trucks from several warehouses to a number of customers, subject to constraints on truck capacity, traveling time, loading and unloading time, etc. This method has been successfully implemented for a warehousing and distribution company in Hong Kong. An 8.8% average cost improvement over the manual method is obtained.
