Abstract
This papers discusses different forms of radiation therapy: including stereotactic body radiation therapy which uses image guidance and 4D CT scanning to establish the precise location of tumours in organs such as the lungs or liver; proton beam therapy; brachytherapy; and low dose radon therapy. Other applications of ionising radiation are also discussed in this paper including low dose radiation used to make crops resistant to insect infestation.
