Abstract

A bilateral gynandromorph is described from a laboratory colony of the Madagascar cockroach, Gromphadorhina portentosa (Schaum). This individual has a remarkable mosaic color pattern on the abdominal tergites. Male characteristics such as the large pronotal hump, stylus, male cercus, and malelike sternites 7-9 are present on the left side, whereas female characteristics are present on the right.
