Abstract

AbstractA sexual experience checklist devised by Cowart and Pollack (1979) was distributed to large samples of college-aged males and females in 1979 and 1983. Results of chi square analysis indicated that more male and female subjects from the 1983 sample are engaging in most types of sexual behaviors. The ordering of the items on the 1983 male and female scales was similar as a correlation of .87 indicates but sequences of behaviors were slightly different between the earlier and later male and female scales. The most noticeable difference was the earlier occurrence of masturbation and sexual intercourse for females on the 1983 scale. The coefficients of reproducibility for the 1983 male and female scales were .88 and .87, respectively.
