Abstract
Most existing independent software vendors (ISVs) are struggling in a market where software solutions delivered using the public cloud model have a clear advantage over those that don't. ISVs have therefore been working to create cloud-based versions of their software. However, they haven't found the right path to move their offerings to the cloud. This column looks at the challenges faced by these companies as they decide whether to migrate to the cloud and explores different paths for doing so.
