Abstract

This paper studies critical book reviews from two perspectives: theoretical and practical. The paper as a whole is divided into two main sections. The first section studies the theoretical part of critical book reviews, what a critical review is, how it differs from a book report or a book summary and how it should be structured. The second section studies critical book reviews from the practical perspective. In other words, it is an application of the supposed structure of a standardized critical review explained in section one on writing a critical review to the book Translation as Problems and Solutions: A Textbook for University Students and Trainee Translators by Professor Hasan Ghazala.
