Abstract
A green and efficient synthesis of alkyl 2-((5-hydroxy-1H-pyrazole-4-carbonothioyl)thio)acetates is described. The method involves a one-pot, solvent-free reaction of pyrazolone derivatives, carbon disulfide, and alkyl bromoacetates in the presence of triethylamine. The crude products were readily purified by simple water washing followed by recrystallization from diethyl ether. The structures of the synthesized pyrazole-4-carbonothioyl-thio-acetate derivatives were confirmed by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and mass spectrometry.
