Abstract

The world as a whole more than 25-30 % food grains and 30-50 % vegetables, fruits etc. is damaged before they reach to the consumers. For disabling issues of vegetables, grains and natural product; different protecting strategies are utilized and renewable sources are best for this reason by which we are able spare vitality for conservation and keeping the item in their characteristic flavor, as conservation of commodities items are exceptionally imperative. The major concern with drying utilizing sun battery-powered appliance is that it's vitality seriously so in spite of the actual fact that drying time is shorter as compared to the conventional strategy of drying. In order to preserve and protect the fruits from bacterial growth, solar dryer is to be designed. System consists of solar air heater, drying chamber, blower and recirculation tube. In a solar drying system the solar energy are used for heating air and to dry any fruit substance which is loaded for drying purpose. Which is not only expedient but also it reduces wastage and makes transportation easy and it also helps in preservation of any fruit substance. This review paper is focused on preservation of dry fruits through different solar drying technology. Also attempt has been given to improve the efficiency of these dryers, various enhancement techniques and design modifications need to be applied to them such as desiccant materials, heat storage units, etc.
