Abstract
A theoretical explanation for recently detected giant enhancements of (1/ T 1 T) 93 Nb near the superconducting transition in Nb 3Al and Nb 3Sn is given, interpreting them as arising from superconducting fluctuation effects in an extremely anisotropic subband. Results are compared to the previously detected enhancement of the 27Al relaxation rate in Nb 3Al. Typical values of the relevant degree of one dimensionality are found to account for the tunneling data of Nb 3Sn.
