Abstract

A 66 year old man with hypertension as the only cardiovascular risk factor had an incidental ultrasound diagnosis of an abdominal aortic aneurysm > 90 mm in diameter. In contrast, computed tomography angiography (CTA) detected an isolated dissection of the coeliac trunk (A, asterisk) with large pseudoaneurysm 11 cm in diameter, with a contained rupture. Through a right femoral percutaneous access, a balloon expandable 8 × 59 mm VBX covered stent (Gore & Associates, Flagstaff, AZ, USA) was deployed in the coeliac trunk. Post-operative CTA showed successful exclusion of the aneurysm and a patent coeliac trunk (B, arrows).Image 1
