Abstract

In this paper, we develop a network-based genetic algorithm with fuzzy logic controller (flc-NBGA) to the design of computer communication networks under reliability constraint, which is a well-known NP-hard problem. A new encoding based on Prufer numbers, two-point crossover and local search operator as a mutation have been used in flc-NBGA. The algorithm results are compared to optimum results found by branch and bound (B&B), GA based on binary representation (SGA) and NBGA without fuzzy logic controller (NBGA) on a suite of test problems.
