Abstract

This paper deals with a Genetic Algorithm for a single machine scheduling to reduce the tardiness with decomposition method, preventive maintenance and its application of steel production system. Also, we have investigated for a setup time, release time and due time in steel plants. In steel production industries, the products are not release within the due time then the fine will occur. The expenses are high when the machine get breakdown. For avoiding this a deterrent maintenance is considered. To reduce the delivery charges the products are grouped into a batch for the completion of the production work. A mixed integer programming model is formulated in this paper. A Genetic Algorithm is used to solve the production work in steel plants. The efficiency metric was examined in order to compare the different types of algorithms.
