Abstract

This paper presents an analytical formulation of the dielectric relaxation constant of polar liquids In the microwave frequency range, based in the complex nature of the autocorrelation function Φ*(t) for the orientational electric polarization and the spectral density I*(ω). The real and imaginary parts behave as Hilbert transforms, and it is possible to establish some relation between the different moments of Φ*(t) and I*(ω), extending the spectroscopic methods of the far infrared.
