Abstract

A generalization of Anderson's sequential probability ratio test procedure is proposed in which the continuation region is bounded by a pair of converging lines up to a certain stage of the experiment and later by another pair of converging lines until the procedure is truncated at a predetermined stage of the experiment. The OC and the ASN functions have been derived. For certain parameter values the proposed procedure attains lower average sample numbers than that attainable by any other known procedure.
