Abstract
This manuscript offers a general review on the derivation of Clausius–Mossotti relation. Clausius–Mossotti relation seems to hold best for gases and gives reasonably good results for many liquids and solids. In physics, this relation connects the relative permittivity of a dielectric to the polarizability α of the atoms or molecules constituting the dielectric.
