Abstract

This paper describes a recently developed general purpose distributed processing data acquisition and analysis system. The system has been designed to operate on a high speed synchronous bus. By adhering to the rigid protocol of the bus, the individual components of the system are independent of position and of other system components. The basic design uses multiple microcomputers and microprogrammable microprocessors to perform specific functions, many of which are normally performed by the CPU in a conventional minicomputer system.
