Abstract

A single general expression in terms of generalized variables X and Y is derived to generate thermodynamic functions from the quasichemical theory. Specializations of X and Y produce expressions for the equation of state, the chemical potentials and related activity coefficients and enthalpy of a mixture. Dependence of the interaction parameters on volume or temperature is left unspecified, but the expression is written in explicit form in order to open the theory for new applications. Some particular applications of the theory are given, as examples of the use of the general expressions.
