Abstract

Many of the problems in adaptive control can be formulated as stability problems of a special class of nonlinear time-varying systems. The paper discusses a general approach developed in recent years exemplified by several recent contributions to the field. The approach is based on order relationships between inputs and outputs of linear systems, with particular reference to a basic structure used in adaptive control.
