Abstract

A gamma-ray irradiation facility with one hundred curie cobalt-60 was designed as a unit type for use in a field of radiation biochemistry, and installed in the Department of Chemistry, Kyoto University in 1963. This facility is able to achieve irradiation at moderate dose rates of the range from 6×103 to 5×104 roentgens per hour and is easily manipulated manually. The facility was equipped with a temperature control system and a circulating system for flowing liquid materials during exposing to gamma ray irradiation.
