Abstract

The method suggested leads to reduce the number of subdivisions on the electrode under examination. It consists first of all in choosing a rate of subdivision less than the true one, in calculating the errors connected with this rate by a fuzzy approach, and then in setting and solving a system of fuzzy equations whose range is lower than that obtained by the traditional method. The procedure has been applied for studying the current field generated by a horizontal cylindrical electrode which is the main component of the usual grounding grids.
