Abstract
AbstractMany contemporary biblical exegetes choose to work only within the protected environment of their own methodology. This has led to a lack of methodological integration. This article wishes to introduce the idea of fuzzy logic as a possible way ofsolving the deadlock between methodologies, especially between modernism and postmodernism. Influenced by Aristotelian philosophy, contemporary scholars still, largely work with binary categories. Fuzzy logic questions this assumption in a fundamental way: A fuzzy view of reality prohibits total relativity ('everything goes'), because it accepts the possibility of some degree of objectivity. It also appreciates that different perspectives are not necessarily totally exclusive. It is therefore the task of the reader to attempt to integrate perspectives on a higher level of abstraction.
