Abstract

This paper presents a fuzzy version for evaluating the reliability of complex power systems. In the proposed algorithm, fuzzy set theory was used to evaluate the coefficients of different terms in reliability expression. The reliability coefficients are composed of tie sets, cut sets and links' capacities of that system. The proposed algorithm is very useful to the on-line power systems security assessment. It depends on the system history and past experiences. The entire logic of the algorithm is explained in details and verified through a numerical example.
