Abstract
With increasing market competition, to achieve better environmental and socio-economic sustainability, the horizontal collaboration (HC) of competing companies has played an important role as well as to improve performance for many enterprises. To boost the sustainability of freight transport, HC has been considered a promising strategy. However, flow-controlling entities collaboration scheme (FCEC) has not been well established decision-making framework for the implementation of HC. Therefore, to mark this research gap, first, this study identified barriers through literature review and expert opinion survey for fruitful implementation of HC in FCEC scheme. We have identified a broad list of HC barriers under five main categories consisting 18 sub-criteria. Then, we adopted the Fuzzy DEMATEL and Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to estimate these HC barriers and compared the results. The findings of this study may help the decision-maker to plan for overcoming the most prioritized HC barriers which help companies to implement highly efficient and optimized collaborative transport network.
