L. Abstract New multichannel SIT observations of 78 faint stars, including 51 new degenerates, are given. Helium and carbon stars, and one with a Zeeman triplet (magnetic field), are included. Red subluminous stars are distinguished by ultraviolet absorption but can be confused with red degenerates at the multichannel resolution. The sample includes a number of stars fainter than +15; properties of 25 such faint degenerates are tabulated. Deviations from a smooth interpolation formula show most red degenerates to be essentially line-free, i.e., to have extremely low metal abundance.
