Abstract

An analysis of 27 gynecology texts written over the past three decades reveals a continuing tendency to present traditional views of female sexuality and personality. Women are sterotyped as primarily wives and mothers and as having a lesser capacity for sex. This study, in the tradition of other studies of sex-role stereotypes, demonstrates sexism in our society.
