Abstract

ABSTRACTDavid Stuttard founded the classical theatre company Actors of Dionysus (aod) in 1993, which has toured throughout the United Kingdom as well as to Europe, and appeared on BBC Radio 3 and 4. David has translated, adapted and directed numerous productions of tragedy and comedy, as well as reconstructing Euripides' lost ‘Trojan Trilogy’ and editing numerous collections of scholarly papers. Since 2010 he has published five books on classical history and literature (for the British Museum Press, Thames and Hudson and Bloomsbury). His latest, Parthenon, Power and Politics on the Acropolis (BMP) will come out in October 2013, while Looking at Medea (Bloomsbury) and A History of Greece in 50 Lives (T&H) will be published in 2014.
