Abstract
This paper aims to make clear the direction of road improvement at prefectural boundary area located in severe traffic condition. To begin with, it grasped present road condition at prefectural boundary area. The second, from factor analysis and cluster analysis by make use of some social index, it makes clear the factors which define regional characteristic and classify the regions. Next, compare regional characteristic with road condition, it extracted regional problem to be solved.And the last, through a case study, it shows the important elements and mutual relationship among them for regional interchange and cooperation by DEMATEL method.
